The rest of the dryer duct work needs to be cleaned too. The dryer duct is everything from the back of the dryer all the way to the exhaust vent on the outside of the house. In a lot of houses, the duct-work inside the walls is at least 10 times the length of the flexible ducting that attaches to the dryer.
