In the course of investigating an antiaging supplement Protandim, Donny Osmond called on his friend and medical doctor, Dr. Dan Royal of Las Vegas to help him check out this product. Dr. Royal, licensed to practice both osteopathic and homeopathic medicine, proceeded over subsequent months to test out the effectiveness using a small group of patients (including himself).

What he found was unexpected -- that on the way to increasing the levels of antioxidant activity (called Spectrox in SpectraCell's MicroNutrient Test, itself costing over $1900), Protandim equilibrated the body's deficiencies of nutrients before maximizing antioxidant activity. These "before and after" nutrient tests proved the effectiveness of this supplement. The claims of Lifevantage that free radical damage was substantially reduced was supported by his research as well as showing how nutritional deficiencies were reduced or predominantly eliminated during the 3-6 month test period.
