This song is the perfect way to describe how I feel about the general image the public has of Michael. It is Cyndi Lauper's song, "True Colors".
I hope he knew that those of us who loved him through thick and thin were willing him on to be himself and conduct himself in the way he saw fit. He was a creative genious (I truly believe this) and if we think back to other such people (Michaelangelo, Van Gogh, etc.), we can see that such types often have eccentricities which are not understood or accepted by everyone.
He was also very adept at marketing - think about that for a minute! He was willing to take risks and he was a very intelligent man.
