  • Topi owns the roles of Tamino and Ferrando in the present times. Clear lyric voice, fine acting, perfect technique, attractive appearance.

    Bravo Topi !!!

  • It is surely a compliment to any contemporary tenors when they are compared to a canonized figure like Wunderlich. But personally I think Lehtipuu is a very unique singer. With his varied techniques and timbres, he never stops amazing me. His rendition of this aria is not only sweet and lyrical (the usual path taken by many Taminos), but also downright virile. Bravo!

  • A man falls in love with a picture - I fall in love listening to him sing about it.

  • @uberklunt I would also add - great voice actor.. He did some prince dubs in some animation movies when I was a kid (in Finnish ofc) and now that I hear and watch those again he was amazing!

  • My goal is to one day sing this as beautifully as Topi. BRAVO!

  • @papagena92

it's a VERY fast tempo indeed...

  • Yes, he is handsome, yes, he can sing - but the acting also shines through. This clip is an excellent example. Now I wonder, Can he dance? :)

  • The best Mozart tenor alive. Beautiful German and phrasing, flawless technique and a gorgeous natural talent. Makes this aria sound easy, which it is decidedly not.

  • @8x8MaVerick8x8 Accurate info about T. Lehtipuu's recordings and repertoire since late 1990's can be found at his website and the Finnish version of Wikipedia (Google can translate it for you).

  • @chavianog24 He's only made one commercial recording - his album of Vivaldi arias. It's on iTunes and also available as a CD. I find it excellent, but it's all Vivaldi and all homogeneous stylistically, so you have to be into it. I would love to hear him really start to explore, and perhaps own, roles outside of Tamino, Ferrando, and... Vivaldi arias.

  • these tempi are a little too fast for me! other than that, I love Topi.

  • This guy one of my new favorite tenors, this is the sound I want! Does he have any recordings on itunes?
