Eugene Lambert RIP.One of the great, inspiring, sweet-loving scenes from a remarkable programme.Despite the protestations of many cynics, O'Brien's formula to end the world shortage of sweets actually was ultimately successful. That's more than can be said about another well-documented peace proposal, namely US president Woodrow Wilson's 'Fourteen Points' that were articulated at the end of the First World War,but did far less than O'Brien in averting a global conflagration. Rest easy, Eugene.
