The Information Technology Program at SUN TECH involves learning in five major areas: NET+ Computer Networking, A+ Computer Maintenance & Repair, Windows 2003 Server, Introduction to Web Page Development and C-TECH copper and Fiber optic cabling. . Students will perform many lab activities and special projects including wireless networking and wireless antenna design and testing. Students will have the opportunity to learn about computer networking through the Net+ curriculum where they will learn to install and configure network equipment such as Hubs, Switches, Routers, and Network Interface Cards. They will learn how to install and properly terminate network cabling in both copper and fiber optic systems through the C-TECH program. Students will also learn the fundamentals of installation, configuration, and administration of Windows 2003 Server as well as A+ Computer Maintenance and Computer Repair skills through the building of laptop and desktop computers.
