I tested KORG MR-1,a DSD portable recorder by using some mics. After the testing,I have to say the attached mic is so poor!!!

  • Your test has several problems that can't be resolved. Although, one can readily tell the difference between the microphones and the pickup techniques used, the Korg MR series recorders can't be judged over the internet, since loss-based audio file size compression has been applied to a signal that had to be converted to a down-sampled copy of your DSD recording. So, the you-tube audio is not only a down-grade to 44.1kHz, but it has been reduced to a MP3 quality recording. Let's hear on KORG.

  • @otto777 Now I don't wanna discuss with you about such boring issue.

    Everybody knows that already. Sorry.

  • what type of guitar is that? sounds good.

    also is it tuned down or something?

  • It is Tacoma Baritone Guitar.

    Model name is BM6C Thunderhawk.

    The tuning is : BEADF#B (L->H)

    You can see it on Tacoma's web site. Thank you

  • sounds great thanks, i'm thinking about the MR2 I'd love dsd.What is the name of the stereo mic you used it looks well built I need one, thanks

  • This sounds beautiful!

  • hmm great spec recording with crap inputs..thats the MR-1. No phantom power.. no XLR inputs..no sp/dif ..just some crappy mini jack...unreal

  • @McGuywer They use DXD format now which is editable at 352.8 khz 24bit..

  • Any digital format trashes analog recordings...they throw away information and later try to synthesize it. 1 - bit has the advantage of super high sampling rate which captures a truer image of the analog signal. Because of that it APPROACHES the ultimate quality that a good vinyl record will produce....best on good tube equipment. DSD is archival quality and easily converted to any other digital format with higher quality than if one started at that other format originally.

  • NOTHING beats a CRT projector at any price. I have 3. My best is a Barco 1209. Spoiled me for ever going to a theater again....more detail, natural color and no idiots talking during the movie....oh, and wine and food are served :)
