http://www.mwands.com 9 BLADE MISSOURI EXTREME LOW WIND 1000 WATT WIND TURBINE. Made by Missouri Wind And Solar in Seymour,Mo.
We tried even number blades,6,8,10 and 12 and found it impossible to balance even number of blades.14 blades were so slow that they were of no value at all. The 12 blades that we tried would shake at 15 mph and could not be fixed .
Experts agreed that odd numbers 3,5,7,9 and 11 blades would balance perfectly and have a flywheel effect. All of our wind turbines are now odd numbers. The 11 blade turbine has the lowest startup and highest torque. The 3 blade has the highest speed but needs 12 mph plus to start on a low torque pma like a 500 watt model.

  • Jeff:

I am concerned about the noise in the video. It is pretty loud to me. Is it the wind "snapping" into the mike or is it the buffeting from the wind. Do you have a noise meter to measure, I hear this throughout several of your videos. I am concerned as I have a residential setup with nearby neighbors.

  • @MrNicka12 it's the microphone thats making the noise. i don't have a wind switch on the camera and i'am going to get one soon. the wind itself through the trees makes more noise than the wind turbines do. about 55 db's

  • Jeff - how did you mount those to the roof of your steel building? Is it directly mounted to the panel and into a metal support below? Let me know - as I would like to mount some on my steel garage on my property - but I haven't figured out how to mount it without ripping apart the roof panels.

  • @dieselplow they go through the roof and are clamped to the side of the rafters.

i have a pic on my web site in the diagrams page.

  • I also email you about the recommended 16 guage wire if you are running ac into building then converting..Its only rated at 20 amps but if 80 amps is possible= fire.I also am curios about a heavy duty wheeled slip ring?

  • slip rings i have seen are 50 to 100 dollars.i recommend 10 or 12 gauge not 16 gauge.

  • @MrNicka12 i have falcon blades and they as quiet as Jeff said, cant here them , not a thing

  • @energyman1988 He was holding the tail to keep it from switching around and hitting him

  • this guy is too close. what if the wind suddenly changes direction? can u say lawn mower blade?

  • i have the same setup and i wanted to test it out without puttung it on a pole yet. I held it to my chest in 40 mph winds and i almost cut off my head. it is verry queit. from behind because of the design the wind goes around you if your behind it. verry fast faster than 1000 rpm (9 blade)

  • I plan on ordering from you guys with in the next month or so. I am trying to figure out which you prefer, this Missouri General, or the 1500 watt Falcon Mach 5? Which one is quieter? Thank you.

  • Jeff, what rpms do the pmas turn at while producing power at 10mph and 20mph? Im new and GREATLY interested. Please put me on your mailing list if you have one. Also Im in need of education on what you will need at the ground for power control, battery charging, and what is needed to direct generated current back to the grid. Ill look at all your site to see if I can discover answers but if you have more, please send or tell me what I might need and prices please, Thanks bill45colt@yahoo.com

  • would have been nice to see the wind speed and the output power both at the same time! Have someone call out the power output on a radio while you have the wind speed and show the wind gen! I see its working, but is it at 1000W or 75 amps at 12V?? Would be wonderful if it was! Get the most for your $! Nice Vid! TU AR SK ..
