Che tristezza nel sentire queste voci e pensare alla misera situazione di oggi. Ho visto una AIDA a Bologna in quegli anni con Craig (fu anche un solido Otello) e la Bumbry con Felicia Weathers una brava soprano di colore. Oggi non si può più fare questo repertorio.Non esistono più le voci per il secondo Verdi.

@rrgallo Because it was the first colour broadcast from Covent Garden, January 1968. Clour t.v. was introduced by the BBC in 1967

@chohashi Because they like wasting public money on worthless new productions. They could easily use these stylistic but very effective sets in a new production, I remember seeing this and it was very effective. At the time it was the most expensive opera ever mounted by the Royal Opera House.
