Thanks,

====================

PS - When reviewing the video I realized that I have mentioned  Business Foundation Layer (Apologies for mixing up the 2 , Data Foundation and Business Layer -;)...
Also, have mentioned that creating a DSN is different in Windows 7, what I meant is that it is different for 64bit architecture compared to 32 bit, you need to create the DSN from C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe (sample path) for IDT to recognize it !!

Business Objects 4.0 - information Design Tool
How to create a universe (in a local folder, more like in stand alone mode)

The following three are the main items discussed in this demo.

Creating a Connection (CNX File for local connection)

Creating a Data Foundation (DFX File) - To model data sources.

Creating a Business Layer (BLX File) - This is what the end users will see.

Thanks,
Naresh

  • Thanks bro....

    it's

    nice

  • Nice video Naresh! thanks for the link ;-)

  • It was a nice quick demo. Information Design Tool looks similar to 3.1 - Business View, where we can have multiple data sources and all the Connection layer, Data Foundation, Business Element and Business View layer on top which we can have Crystal Reports. Looking forward to learn more about 4.0 tools :) Thanks for the upload.
