Over the years CBS News has been considered, by many, the most newsworthy network newscast and, by others, liberally biased. Its history has been dominated by its personalities from Edward R. Murrow, Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, and now Katie Couric. Ironically, all of these news persons have, after leaving CBS, critiqued television for overemphasizing entertainment values. As you watch this pre-CBS interview, does Katie Couric exemplify newsworthy reporting or commentary? Does she also exemplify entertainment values at the expense of newsworthy reporting or commentary?
