  • What would you do you with the roots?

  • @smashinkelsey

i've never experimented with the roots. so i can't give any recommendations because i don't want to give you direction when i haven't even tried myself. :(

  • Another question! Is the due that you used permanent or semi permanent? And how would you do the roots? Bleach only the new growth then apply the dye only on the new growth, or would you apply the dye all over including the roots? Sorry for all the questions!!

  • @ipandi

i used permanent. and i haven't experienced with the roots sorry ;(

  • am i able to get that color without bleaching my brown hair?

  • @itsadelineyeh

i don't think so :( i tried to go light without bleaching. but the ash will never be ash unless you leach

  • @steffro003 Ash blonde is near a dirty blonde hair colour. In which it does have some brown to it. It's just what ash blonde typically is.

  • Was your hair dyed at first? Mine is dyed brown and I want to do this.

  • I've read other information as well that backs up the same process you used to achieve ash(cool) blond color from natural dark hair- it has to be bleached VERY light first, and then toned down to a cool shade(two-step process). Even the models photographed on the haircoloring kits have their hair bleached("stripped") first, before applying the shade of haircolor included in the box to show "true" color. Any one-step process lightening on black/dark brown hair will reveal red & "brassy" tones.

  • how long did you leave the ash brown for? 20 mins as recommended? or a full 45?

  • You're so pretty!!<3 (:

  • @lazybumtot Did that work out for you? And, if my hair is already very brassy right now, will it still have effect and tone it down, or does it only PREVENT brassiness (so you would have to apply it while your hair is ash) ?

I bought the Shimmer Lights shampoo already, and used it twice. I haven't seen any results nor am I expecting them so quickly, but I'm wondering if it really will work on a long term..

  • @lazybumtot oh im not bleaching my hair i was just toning it but thanks anyways lol
