In the late '40s The H&C Coffee Company erected this animated neon sign in Roanoke, Virginia. In times past, it had ceased to function needing repairs. It has now been refurbished, and is again lighting up the night sky over downtown Roanoke. For more images from Roanoke, visit the Old Roanoke website

@angiecan1973 I well remember that sign. It has been in three locations during my lifetime. Originally it was on the Woods'Brothers Coffee building ( what was it? Harold and Clarence Woods?) looking west on Campbell Ave. Next it was on the old hotel looking north that Billy Ritz was in on the ground floor. And now it is looking north from the top another old hotel building. Back when downtown Roanoke was THE place for shopping and entertainment, there were dozens of similar neon signs.
