Fuelled by a bag of chips Eleanor, tackles the southern ridge up the Skirrid (Ysgyryd Fawr) SO330182 also referred to as Holy Mountain is located at the north eastern edge of Abergavenny. It reaches 1595 feet (486M) above sea level. This is a mountain of modest proportions but affording splendid views. It has a distinct shape formed by a landslip on one side dating from the Ice Age but reputed by legend to have occurred at the moment of crucifixion. Its splendid summit offers an excellent panorama of Abergavenny, the Sugar Loaf, and the Blorenge in Wales to the west. With equally panoramic views of the rich agricultural expanse of Herefordshire to the east.
Cool vid...well done to the littlun. Cant beat the feeling of Welsh hills!
