Video shows how a 60 watt laser is used to cut 3/8" thick acrylic to produce a polished finish. The laser machine is 60 watts, the laser type is CO2. The laser uses air pressure from the nozzle and vacuum table. The acrylic is supported above the acrylic to remove flash-back effects on the bottom of the acrylic. Demonstrated shape is the letter "D".

  • I see your laser is pretty close to the acrylic surface. Focus is something I am trying to work out because when etching small letters I find that 9mm from the surface is the focus point. But for cutting, 9mm is too far away. So many variables!

  • Wowzers! 60 Watt!

How much did it cost you?
