Carl Sonner shot this video of a special passenger run from 1994. The newly organized Blue Mountain Railroad offered a few special runs on the former UP lines it had acquired to introduce area residents to their new service. Carl rode along and shot considerable video of the passing countryside.
Part 1 includes getting on the train at Moscow, ID, running through Pullman, WA, crossing a wooden trestle (which may be the one that burned several years ago, leading to the end of service between Pullman and Colfax), and arriving at Colfax.
Wow! A lot has changed in 17 years... Track in Moscow from opening shot now gone, Diamond and old highway overpass in Pullman now gone, UP tracks from Moscow to Pullman now gone. Pullman to Colfax now OOS. Thank you so much for posting!
