Franz Völker (1899 - 1965). One of the most beautiful tenor voices in history. Where are voices like this today? So balanced and free with clear vowels, a great vibrato action and ringing top! This is a true dramatic tenor with steely intensity in the sound.

NICHT Franz Völker, sondern MAX LORENZ hieß urprünglich Sülzenfuß!!!!

Sorry, mistake (oops!)I have confused him with the other great Max Lorenz! His name was originally Sülzenfuß.I can imagine, that he changed his name ,because Sülze is a food in Germany made from the head of pig (Schweinskopfsülze) and Fuß is foot...so not really nice name for an artist.Just like Anja Silja (her real name is Langwagen=long car)
