Of course,everyone knows that British,and French won the war.

Ferdinand Fosh(French general)was the main responsible ,in the Second Battle of Marne in July 1918,for the counter attack that defeated the germans,in France,his relevance was such that those offensives received its own name.

And Germany in 1918 was still in perfect fighting condition,and expecting at versailles a treaty worthy of a military draw with taste of diplomatic defeat,not a treaty worthy of a crushing defeat.

@kickassed Don't forget Kickass, the Americans also won at Argencourt, They won at Waterloo and at Trafalgar. They also skipped across from Valley Forge in 1864 to clear the Russians from the Crimea. Damn fine soldiers!

@ViriathusVingathor Without doubt they were defeated in the field, and from pascendaele onwards they just went backwards! The only two armies stronger in 1918 that they were in 1914 were the British and the late entrants; the Americans. The French and the Germans were 'hanging onto their helmet chinstraps' with exhaustion!
