  • Its a great review but i wouldn't call it a thumb ramp, it's gimping. A thumb ramp ramps up to prevent the thumb moving forward, i think! LIke the spyderco ATR. THats a real thumb ramp.

  • The Spyderco ATR's feature is actually called a "Cobra Hood" by Spyderco. Jimping (not gimping) is the cut-outs in the back, you are correct.. a Thumbramp would probably be only when the spine angled upwards from the handle like a Spyderco Endura.

  • what do you use to sharpen it?

  • I would use a Spyderco Sharpmaker or an Edgepro

  • do you like the AR better than the SMF?

  • I like each better in their own way. I find the SMF a bit big and unweildly however, and the AR cuts a bit better IMO.

  • do you want to sell this knife? i would absolutly love to buy that knife

  • what's the difference between the AR and the SMF?

  • $300ish.

  • Beautiful Knife man! They are really Rugged working Blades, Whats The Best Price i could get one for?

  • God Damn they are tuff lookin, well made beautiful Knives! Whats the best price you can get one of those babies for?

  • Your mom has good ball pivot.

  • @PopcornCoolie I've never heard Strider's bull pivot or any pivot pin on any knife referred to as a "kingpin" by an knife user or knife maker in all the forums I visit. Maybe you could provide some kind of reference as to where and whom that term originates from, other than yourself.

Most knife companies also have a close relationship with their customers through forums and there's no way they could refuse any warranty service without others hearing about it. The only one full of BS is you.

  • Is that supposed to be derogatory? It made me snicker.

  • It's not made up. I can't believe you've never heard the term Kingpin before. King as in main. The thing about warrantys... they're bullshit. Anyone who has the resources to persue the company on grounds of fraud wouldn't bother. They will just buy a new knife. It's not worth the time, money nor hassle. I have items with lifetime warrantys and none of the mfgs replaced any of them. It's all a game, a hustle. They didn't ask questions they just played ring around the phonie.
