before joining NOFX el Hefe played in a band with Mark Curry who wrote and published that song in 1992 on his "its only time" album. thats his tribute to him....and to green day

Okay kiddies time for me to explain something about guitar to alot of you guys who think that Green Day ripped this off. What he is playing is a G chord, not a normal one but it still has the notes to make it a G chord, he then switches to a D/F# to a Em7 then back to the G. there are alot of songs that are ALIKE but that doesnt mean that they are stolen. Werewolves in London, Sweet Home Alabama and Sweet Child O Mine have the same chords and those are stolen

Green Day are musical magpies. Listen to My Dream Girl Don't Exist by Neutral Milk Hotel...sounds eerily like When I Come Around by Green Day. Guess which was written first. I'm not hating though, without Green Day I'm sure a lot of people would have ever heard of NOFX or Mark Curry.

Two, listen to the tune of the song. They stole the song's tune too.. it's not just the guitar part.

Three I'm pretty sure Mark Curry wasn't angry that they stole it. They were from around the same scene iirc anyway, and really, if anything, imitation is the ultimate form of flattery. BUT I don't know the man, so I don't know how he feels about it.
