TV is nothing more than a medium to mold public opinion and for social engineering. Journalist, anchors, etc. are all media whores. Turn it off and read.

Looks like I'm ahead of you on that idea, I barely watch TV anymore due to the things you've mentioned, more or less it's infotainment, I still read the Newspaper (online & offline) and listen to the news mostly on podcastings from different sources.
