  • I think this album is Clapton at his best, and Duane as well. In his autobiography, which is an amazing book, Clapton describes this period in his life as a very sad, dark one in which he sinks into isolation and heroine. Ironically, this is the most emotionally present album I've heard from any artist in the last 5 decades. Soul mainlined into the song!

  • Duane's short life should never overshadow his prowess as one of the top five guitarists ever!!

  • Perhaps best slide player ever, but Derek Trucks is hot on his heals now.

  • @steve58502 no ..the cascading & tight guitar sound is blissful

  • I believe this is as good as it ever got..... Is there anything out there that can top Clapton & Allman at their respective peaks playing on the same sone? Not sure anything in rock & roll was ever made that was better than this.

  • This is by far, Eric Clapton's best ever!! This one has true meaning, if you, like him lived through the Pits of Hell!!! <3

  • Great song featuring one of the best short guitar solos ever by Duane. Long live Skydog!

  • Great song! Clapton as the emergent song writer. One thing I really like about him, and it still applies to this day: he's very unselfish about sharing the stage/spotlight with other musicains.

  • Hard to think of better song or performance.

  • this is the best version

  • truth the Derek and the Dominos in concert album had eric bobby whitlock carl radle and jim gordon and it is the very best that Clapton ever did in his life--no allman was around at all.

  • @jprystupa Yeah, I think the same, also read his autobiography, he sounds so torn and ripped that you can't help to feel deply moved.
