I'm agree with Raihaanah, in my opinion Shakira don't show the real and exquisite middle eastern dance and her movements don't convince me at all. I recommend watch videos from other dancers and we'll see the big difference on this dance/art!!!!!

I totally agree w/your sentiment, bellydonsah28, bellydance is NOT done to attract men! That is a bi-product at best! I bellydance, and I do not do it for men, and I daresay every dancer I know would agree with me! (I also am a bellydancer!)

Wow; she is very good. Do you know those shamadan's weigh 10 to 20 pounds?!!! Plus dripping wax! I am a bdancer, and trust me, what she's doing is not easy; and she does it well. You GO girl!!! (And it is true the original dance was done only in the company of women, but we are now in 2007...)

It drew my interest because I'm also a female bellydancer and I was looking for clips of shemadan dance. Not because I'm a pervvy old man looking to get my rocks off. Never said she wasn't beautiful and talented- I think she is. I was just correcting your mistaken belief that women bellydance to attract men.
