  • Do you have this whole show? I have wanted to see this since I was a kid!

  • I hate cutting videos into the 10 minute segments that You Tube now require. Fortunately, Google Video still aloows that.

  • Correction....Google Video has stopped adding new videos.

  • Ernie Kovacs was a man far ahead of his time. While everyone else was playing checkers, Ernie was busy inventing Pacman, doing things no one else had even thought of doing. Videotape editing at that time was very primative - editing sessions often would go as long as 22 hours. Once, when asked how they got through that he responded - "We drank...heavily...in the control room...during the sessions!" So many of his priceless shows were lost forever when ABC would bulk erase the 2" quad masters!

  • I remember EK being on at my house when I was a child. I think the one show of his that I remember was "The Silent Show" with his Eugene character. I also remember a bit of the intro to one of his show where someone (from the Nairobi Trio?) looked like he was playing a drum, but the "drumhead" turned out to be soup! I saw this PBS special in the 70s, and since then I've been a confirmed EK fan.

  • Incidentally, the brief blackout gag where "used car salesman" Ernie slaps his auto right through the pavement, cost him $10,000 to stage and videotape...as he often said, "Nothing in moderation".

  • Thanks for the great Ernie clips -- way ahead of his time. FYI - a couple of months ago Percy's eyeglasses were auctioned in Dallas, Texas.
