  • I just need to reflect when he says, "the school does not belong to .....the union...." Teachers' union is very critical. We can do our jobs better if we know that we are empowered through our union. That our salary is at part with other professioal salaries, that we have health coverage. I have to opt out of my health coverage that our district provides because the premiun is very high. Luckily, my kids and I could join my husband's health coverage. As a teacher, I am part of a solution.

  • I really get the feeling that Arne is speaking from his heart. His excitement to be leading a generation to the trough of education and having the relationship that he has with a leader who inspires him, as well as those he hopes to touch is truly outstanding. I feel if there's anything the Obama adminstration has done right, it's to appoint a secretary of education who has demonstrated his theories and methodologies work in his own district and is eager to apply them on a national level.
