Have you been in Australia before (Wollongong)? Borestrand seems to be a nice spot for beginners. Can you rent surfboards there? Reminds me of the movie "Monster Torsdag"! ;-) What is the best time in the year to surf in Stavanger?

Yes, I lived in Wollongong for a year (studying). Borestrand is not bad for beginners, it's an ok beach break. I've heard it's supposed to be biggest during the autumn/winter time. You can rent surfboards there. See surfschool(dot)no

my norwegian sucks (since i only speak danish :-D) so here we go in english:

i'm gonna take a trip from bergen to københavn this september and i want to surf every day (or the most possible)

do you know any nice spots (mandal, klitmøller are the only one's i know) in the southwest of norway you could recommend (waves of any surfable sice ;-)?

I've only been to Bore nearby Stavanger, but you get a few spots around there. You can search the wannasurf site for Norway spots.

you guys certainly are courageous. having lived in stavanger, I can't believe that anyone would surf in the cold water there. I'd say you've got balls, but I reckon they'd be shrivelled up and hiding somewhere in your chest in that freezing water.
