I first heard this song while at Mass in Norwich, England. It's a shame none of the churches I've attended in America have sung it.

This is my body broken for you
bringing you wholeness, making you free
Take it and eat it and when you do
Do it in love for me.

This is my blood poured out for you
bringing forgiveness, making you free
Take ir and eat it and when you do
do it in love for me.

Back to my Father soon I shall go
Do not forget me, then you will see
I am still with you, and you will know
you're very close to me.

Filled wit my Spirit, how you will grow
You are my branches, I am the tree
If you are faithful, others will know
you are alive in me.

Love one another, I have loved you
and I have shown you how to be free
serve one another, and when you do
do it in love for me.

  • @gelimwah: @gelimwah: Thanks for commenting. Unfortunately, I don't have the sheet music piece for this song. Maybe try searching on OCP or MusicSacra's sites?

  • Me too. I wish it was sung more here in the U.S.A.!

  • This was sung at Mass last sunday, and it was so lovely, I just love it !

  • I love this hymn very much.

  • A very beautiful hymn. I discovered this in the St. Joseph Church in London, performed by a fabulously singing congregation, mostly British-Carribean women.

I wish I could listen to them on You Tube...

  • can i ask for musical piece,so we could sing it in the philippines? It's a very very good song.Reply pls.

  • We sing this fairly frequently as a communion hymn but with organ accompaniment - adds an element of gravitas not present here.
