basic concept was a wal-like instrument, but the backpressure was bad, so i had to prolong it.. so its more neal-like, if we can talk about such a quality at all in case of this instrument.

i also taped it, cause my opinion about the painting has changed...

mybe i'll upload some videos of my recently build instruments...

  • You have got that traditional sound which is a great thing. As for the instrument, i am in serious financial difficulty. I have a mago which i purchased from ididjaustralia. I would like to buy a yirdaki from him but it is too costly.

    So i wonder whether i can make one? if so what material is good?

    hardwood or course. u can google that on your own. my personal favorites are: hornbeam, locust, (mountain) ash and nearly all kinds of local fruit trees (like apple, cherry, damson, etc.) so you see, theres no need for eukalyptus. i have a nice crisp stick in E made of ash, but you cant see it. its covered by the fat one on the video... cheers
