@kowclubproductions probably cause yours is an automatic or its tired mine has 350 000 k on it and i still eat almost anything in my path not to toot my own horn but its a bloody fast 4 cyl once you unblock the exhaust! cause the cat and resonator restrict it alot

@kowclubproductions bleh FWD. a KA24DE engine is lots of fun when its RWD. my dad drifts my Xterra, 5000 pounds of shear offroad SUV, on rainy days and it has a KA24DE. 240sx's's's's with KA's are an awesome autocross/touring/circuit build platform, and last FOREVER. an altima with a KA24DE is just a 4 door compact with a big buzzy engine. lol

@nismoskys MSD helps a grip with those plugs and wires too....got that on my single cam mayhem!

I just bought an s14, with a ka24de, I want to keep it n/a, what do I do? I know nothing about these as I've never had one. What kind of cams, intake etc.
-
Lemme see it sideways

@nismoskys if you go ITBs get gsxr 1000 throttlebodys and set it up likewise. and use a ka24e cable instead of the de. the e one os a bit shorter and thats what you want with that configuration.

on my 97 altima the part that made the biggest difference in high-end power was a short-ram intake. (out of iridium wires, plugs, and intake)
plugs and wires made it stronger through-out, but the intake felt like it totally changed the power curve. I felt as though I lost low end torque, and gained high-end HP.
-
If you want to fix that loss of high end power in the KA, IMO the best and cheapest way is to go to your junkyard, or since you own a 240 I assume you have some extra motors laying around your garage like the rest of us... lol
Get an s13 exhaust cam and swap it for you intake cam. Rotate the cam gear back 4 teeth IIRC. So now you have two exhaust cams (248/248 duration) and Ta-Da! Feel the pull over 5k :)
But it wasn't enough for me. Need boost!
why do people like ka24's so much? this is a serious question and not to offend anybody but my altima has one and its slow as crap.

@kowclubproductions
yea for some reason they dont seem that special in altimas..
maybe its cause its mounted longitudinally.. on a stick car.. with rear wheel drive..
all that can probably do wonders for how a motor feels
lol i haven't got much motor-specific to say though
i know mine packed some nice low-end torque though as most do (or should)
the car could hang with a stock s2k if that says much..
