I Never understood Why the MIGHTY QUO stopped producing their own records and "Went All Funny" On Us - This Band IS STATUS QUO.

They lost it when they stopped producing their own records - Rockin All Over The world was the example of them losing it, first time I heard them and thought...what the F????.... so bland!

When Status Quo lost Alan Lancaster, their original bassist, they lost a lot of their energy.
DieNetaDie 2 years ago
I think that the loss of drive and energy happened when John Coghlan left. As much as I appreciate the contribution that Alan Lancaster made to Staus Quo, the final two albums that he featured on - 1+9+8+2 and Back To Back - were both pretty lethargic recordings.

I agree.

To see a band like this who knew each others style inside out was a treat, close comfort with each other and each with undeniable skill made for a great gig. Shame they thought they could make it with a different line up. Thats not a dig at Rhino, he's a fantastic bass player, just that fans (unlike Rossi) have loyalties.

Surprisingly, there a lot of people who think that the current line-up is better than 'the frantic four'. But I'm not one of them. Nobody I know who has seen both line-ups believes that the 'new' Quo are better than the Rossi-Parfitt-Lancaster-Coghlan line-up. The frantic four win hands down. No competition.
