Jeff Bates - Riverbank

My brother, Dan Hedlund, loved to fish. It was never too hot or too cold to get out the fishing poles and head to the lake, reservoir or river. We lost Dan to a heart attack in February 2009. When I went back to Nebraska for his funeral, I spent hours pouring over his photo albums and scanning only a portion of the photos he took. He was quite the photographer and writer. He was a wonderful son, loving husband and a great dad to 4 wonderful teenagers. He was a loyal friend and a one of a kind brother. This video is in honor of Dan and created with love for all of those who miss him terribly.

I created the video in March 2009, not 2007. I had been working on Dan's video for 7 hours and evidently forgot what year it was by the time I got to the end of the video!

I have been in your shoes and not talked to my dad for 10 years, because I was too stubborn to make the first move out of fear of being rejected again. Then he passed away and I never got to say good bye. You can't go back and change the past, but you can try to reach out and meet each other where you are and start fresh. I will pray for you and your dad and I wish you luck and God's peace.

my grandpa died on monday... They played this song at his funeral today... Its a sad day for my family but he doesn't have to suffer anymore and he gets to see my nanny.. I love you papa and nanny! See you again someday!

This song reminds me off my best friend who died last year. We always went fishing together all the time & he wouldn't want to see his "little sis" crying. My next tattoo will be in memory of him & will have "I wish this was a riverbank instead of a graveyard..." RIP big bro. I'll see you again one day so you better save me a spot!
