Here's a good example of amazing backwards compatibility unlike:
BioShock running on a Radeon X850XT PE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=at7bPBN_ASA

Not only does it look pretty awesome, but Call of Duty 4 is running darn smooth on my so-called outdated machine, quite similar to the performance I get in HL2 actually.

I'm glad theres still a few people in this world who can code a good graphics engine.

Full computer specs:
MoB: Asus P4GDC-V Deluxe
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 P550 3.4GHz, Socket 775 LGA
RAM: OCZ Platinum XTC, 2048MB DDR2 PC6400 KIT
GFX: HIS Radeon X850XT-PE IceQ II, 256MB PCI-E

Game settings:
Everything to medium, (specular maps and the likes didn't change anything, so turned off)

  • my bad lol but it looked like it was xbox or ps3 on a high sensitivity like at 3:08 it was pc lol srry man

  • No worries. I believe I actually played the game with the 360 controller on my PC when I recorded this video, so it's understandable why you'd think that :)

Look at 4:02 especially when I "over-aim" for the second and third guy on the other side of the room.

  • would a geforce 5200 fx work on games like counter strike, crossfire, call of duty and games like that plz help me thanks!!!

  • Should work with CS Source on lowered settings - CS 1.6 is no problem. Crossfire I don't know what is I'm afraid. COD4s minimum requirements are GeForce 6600, ATI Radeon 9800 PRO or better so a FX5500 might be a bit of a stretch. Don't know if it has all the required shader thingies.

  • look, everyone u may as well get a ps3 or xbox 360, it cost so much less plus it runs sooo much better than pc's

  • Actually, you get better graphics and higher framerates on todays gaming- or even slighty-above-average PCs, and you get to play with a keyboard and mouse!... Third person shooters, platformers, sports games, driving games etc is perfect for consoles but fast paced multiplayer FPS gaming will reign supreme on PCs untill the day no TV input lag, delay, ghosting and mouse + keyboard is a standard with console gaming.

  • @TheOldeFishe You still failed for posting it :P

  • This game works with a X300.Heheh but crashes sometimes.

  • hi when you change the intel graphics card to a radeon card do you just put it in then it works or...

  • Looks good! I completed this on my X850XT (only as my Geforce 6800 Ultra died - it was superior). With an Athlon XP 2600+, 2GB RAM, Soundstorm sound. FRAPS makes everything lag like a dog though.

  • i just got this exact card can i play call of duty with better graphics than xbox?

  • @GodsNotReal95 LOl, that was a 2 year old post...... I know that PC'S are much better.. -_-

  • @TheOldeFishe you are right about the cost, but your fucking crazy if you think xbox or ps3 can outrun a pc. unless urs is shit. pc always was and always will be elite in performance.

  • i have the x850xt platinum do you think it will handle mw3 when it comes out? i wanna be able to play with graphics settings just enough to look as better than xbox

  • @thebond22 im pretty sure that was a budget card from a long time ago. i have one downstairs and its shit. could never even start cod im sure.

  • @McKack cod 4 runs at lowest settings 640X480@ +-30 fps on 5200
