White House REDUX


Do The Evolution. History and meaning merge in the flux of existence. Established as an iconic political symbol and representing global progress, the White House should embody human moral and advancement, the becoming of mankind and the path we are to follow, as we embrace the present and shape the advent of the rising day.

Borrowing elements with such emblematical an air, such as the American Bald Eagle, and the world-wide known Stars And Stripes, and abstractly fusing the essence of these geometries, our proposal is imbued with a romantic premise, portraying the relevance of the projected building in today's world culture.

Lean volumes emerge from the shimmering pool and soar over the surrounding landscape reflecting the body of this compelling structure clad with glittering white porcelain panel. From the main access bridge the building appears as the shade of an ascending flight. Walk on and the attendant stumbles upon the briefing square, where the President shall address his / her words to the people and press, whilst the windows and walls surrounding the square display the live recordings of the President's speech along with up to date news and images of national symbols and emblems; all of this on account of proper installation of LED lighting and sound devices over the glass clad surfaces, performing as an informative media facade for the people of the U.S.

Among other things, 21st-century architecture reflects the mentality of the communication society. In particular, the design of building facades can fulfill communicative functions through the integration of a media design. With this assumption in mind, we proceeded by proposing such a smart interactive dressing; like a dynamic membrane, it allows the house to express, communicate & interact with its environment and the nation's people, while it enhances the interior spaces comfort and solace, presenting the building with an elegant and modern touch.
