Katatonia talk about their influences throughout their career and in creating new album, Night Is The New Day, available on Peaceville Records.

Possibly the greatest heavy record I have heard in the last ten years... it truly is a masterpiece. Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth)

the Swedes have quite possibly penned their very own masterpiece...

...this record is a mind-bending odyssey of melodies, moods, colours and soundscapes; labyrinthian ambience, glorious heights, despairing lows and the type of awe-inspiring set of chapters which demand an instant replay. This is truly classic Katatonia, and of unprecedented quality.

9/10 Rocksound

'an album staggering in both its ambition and its accessibility, showcasing beauty and despair in equal measure.'

4.5/5 One Metal

  • Groove/Emo? What a weak and immature statement..Sad.

    Katatonia rocks!!

  • Great band, i'm waiting impatiently for the new album. And I want to remember the influence of Katatonia in bands like Opeth and italian's Novembre.

x thereinhards: Jeff Bukley and The Cure Crap? You are a fool! Try to open your mind.

  • Katatonia has always been different from other metal bands in that many of their influences are not in metal. This video shows that well. I have huge respect for them.
