This song was written and was a big hit first for Jody Reynolds.. Hank Jr. did a good copy, but google Jody Reynolds and you will see he was the first out with this song. He died last year at 75 in Palm Springs.

I remember listening to this man when he first started. He really came into his own.

This was made before Jr. fell off the bluff and put out an eye and scarred his face. Now he has to wear sunglasses and a hat to hide the damage. He can't have a song that doesn't reference his dad. Went to one of his concerts once and he was too drunk/stoned to perform. Wanted the audience to sing the lyrics.Was a fan until then.

@ryandbertram actually, most of those mistakes were made by other people. Not by the American public. But he was elected by the public and well it was a mistake sir. I never said he was the worst thing to ever happen to America, just a huge mistake that America has made. Thanks.
