Well this is a race in which many people think that Michael Schumacher 'stalled' his car under pressure... So I uploaded a video which seems to suggest that it was actually caused due to lack of cooling arrangements by Ferrari... Alas ! A chance for a championship was ruined in any case

  • 1997 own fault, 2006 Monaco own fault.

  • 2006 Japan and Brazil... own fault ?? Sure ! Without those mech gremlins Schumacher was 100% surely gonna become 2006 WDC. Well, luck did not favor him then, just like in 1998 and 1999...

  • The video stops right before you see Schumacher overtakes 10 cars in the starting line. That sucks!

  • @jv76 Where's the link to the 1998 F1 rules & regulations?

  • @chickenmankel No: 96-96 in that case. 7 wins for each, the same # of 2nd places, but Schumi came the 3rd more than Mika did that year.

  • @wks1978 Telemetry sabotage? We know what McLaren did in 2000's.

  • Nothing in this video suggests the Ferrari cooling system was responsible for the stall except what Schumacher said. He's hardly going to say "Yes I made a mistake and stalled it!", especially as he lost the championship as a result.

  • @jv76 Ross Brawn had already played irvine in many strategies that would compromise his race in order to give michael a better race. It would be out of character and downright rude for him to ask irvine to stall his car when hakkinen is almost garunteed the championship.

  • @KuostA Not always.

  • @schopfheim91 97 and 98 he lost because the williams and the mclaren were so much faster than ferrari, it was only his class that made the championship to be decided in the last round. true about the spa incident, big mistake on his part. still a great driver

  • @schopfheim91 that's also very true

  • wait, to clarify, if you stall your car on start, they will STOP the start and regrid the cars? i thought if you stalled, off the rest went, and you just were forced to restart and go.

  • @jv76

Wow, didn't realize this! Imagine the headlines if they did opt for that.

However, It still would have been a big task to win the championship. If schumacher won, and Hakkinen came second, Hakkinen would still win the championship. It would have been interesting to see if Michael tried to back Hakkinen into Irvine.
