The movie is called "9th Company" and is basically the 'band of brothers' except about the Soviet soldiers serving in Afghanistan.
The song I used was 'Wind of Change' by the Scorpions, a song which was recorded in 1990 and released in 1991, seeing as 1991 was the year that the Soviet Union fell apart I used this song with this movie as the events of this movie happened 1-2 years before the song.
I dedicate this video to the Soviet soldiers who fought and the 15000 that died in their service, despite efforts of the United States to hamper the Soviet progress, they fought on. And now it is the NATO troops fighting there. Had my father not been bribed out of the army, he may have shared the same fate as the men of the 9th company. In addition, respect and honor to the people of Afghanistan for their determination and courage, having suffered over 1 million casualties, they never surrendered and held strong against the might of my motherland.

Personally I enjoyed the movie, I did not need subtitles, as I am Russian myself, but you can find this movie with English subtitles should you wish to watch it, it has already been released in the cinemas in England.

  • @Unit987654321 u probly right altho i have a hard time seeing china n india teaming up haha

  • @damiion666 Sure there can still be a war between Russia and the States, however that war won't be nearly as big as if India and China decided to fight each other. Nor would it be as big if India and China teamed up on a world conquest goal, this is of course assuming nukes are not used.

  • @Unit987654321 ...yes...all a country has left in the end are the nukes. You said "russia and the US are not very strong at the current moment" They still have the biggest nuclear arsenal and are still a force to reckon with. If there is gonna be another world war it can still be by russia/us.

  • @damiion666 They both have the largest populations in the world, they have their own nuke stockpiles and China has these strategic missiles that can sink US ships almost anywhere in the globe. Without a navy, the US conventional forces are powerless, so all they really have left after that are the nukes, which is what they will retaliate with. Before you talk about technology, it has developed so advanced that the difference in technologies no longer matters, numbers and tactics are what win now

  • @Unit987654321 Strongest in what form? The US and russia still have the largest nuclear stockpiles. This hasn't changed. Only difference today more regional powers now are developing their own stockpiles.

  • @damiion666 Well nowadays, the only thing preventing another World War are the nuke stockpiles. Russia and the US are not very strong at the current moment. China and India are the 2 strongest nations in the world right now, if there is ever gonna be another world war, those 2 nations will be involved.

  • @Unit987654321 I think the soviet union would have been transformed one way or another because I think the russian people were already waking up. Sooner or later they were going to shed that communism bullshit. But at least while the soviet union was around I think the world was actually a safer place with just 2 superpowers competing. Nowadays it's all a mess.

  • @damiion666 There were many things that contributed to the fall of the USSR, the war in Afghanistan was merely a spark, I think. If the USSR concentrated on the economy rather than military, and haven't gone to Afghanistan, it would still be around today, and would be one of the best places to live.

  • @Unit987654321 True...but the US did not collapse after vietnam...the soviet union utterly collapsed aftar afghanistan so the loss to them was greater. I am glad for this. Just my 2cents.

  • @damiion666 That may be true, however the Soviet Union lost 15 000 troops in Afghanistan while the US lost 50 000 in Vietnam.
