014 Replace a Ceiling Fan

To clarify, I'm not going to show you how to simply remove a ceiling fan and then reverse the process to put in a new one. I realize most of us are capable of figuring that out. What happens though, when your new ceiling fan runs on a remote while your old one runs on wall switches? I'm going from 2 wall switches (one for the light, one for the fan) into no switches and a single remote.

  • the old fan is a hampton bay bridgeport

  • From what I remember on display at Home Depot, the old fan is probably late 1990s or early 2000s and not 80s.
