  • Was this indeed the final promo featuring the multi-colored 7 logo?

  • Not bad computerised graphics for 1988 ... imagine trying to get a 286 computer to create that...

  • I was associate composer with David Kimber for this, and was orchestrator and conductor for the recording at EMI Studios 301 Castlereagh Street in 1987.

  • I know mate, that sucks doesn't it.

  • I think later in the year they did a slight re-arrangement of the music and discarded the extra wording, but the overall animation was the same

  • The last year of the "Colour Machine" logo.

  • channel 7 did well with this promo. celebrating our bicentenary (1788-1988) with this catchy jingle "lets celebrate '88"

  • Yes, 1988 was the last year of the multicoloured Seven logo, they changed the design of the logo in 1989 (see other ostings of that logo on YouTube, before it was replaced altogether on January 1, 2000 with the ribbon logo that remains to this day.

  • Superb - what a great design and theme - conveyed stature and authority!

  • What Quality

  • Yes, I believe it was.
