Fatenah is a 27 year old woman living in the Gaza Strip. Her life is similar to the lives of many other women in Gaza. Her life changes the day she discovers to have breast cancer.
This animation, the first produced in Palestine, shows with great accuracy the scenarios of Gaza city. The 27 minutes long story is a breath-taking journey into Fatenahs daily struggles. It uncovers the human drama of her fight to survive. This journey into the heart of the Gaza Strip will touch and move you.
Based on a true story, which took place in 2005-2006, "Fatenah" shows how Israel's continued blockade of the Gaza Strip impacts the Palestinian population's right to health. A factsheet is available, which explains how the issues raised in the movie are still relevant in March 2011: http://issuu.com/who-opt/docs/fatenah_backgroundinfo

  • really wtf is wrong with the world..politics and stuff but they should end it at one point people do live well together is this damn politics money and all ruining everything just put all in place build hospitals roads schools and stop with all the bull...in the end we will all going to die and they will still fight over a stripe of wasted land ...geez

  • Brilliant work!!

  • Show this the whole world over! The underlyine message cannot be ignored any longer.

  • Excellent, excellent and excellent a thousand times over! As everyone says this is the most realistic film I've seen in a long time! Ironically animated films are popular in the U.S. but rarely do they come close to being realistic as Fatenah! Applause!

  • A very true view of the situation caused by the colonisation of part of Palestine by extracontinental aliens and the expulsion of the indigenous population. This has led to true tragedy in the area.

  • Thank you fo this amazing work. It is moving and insightful and beautifully done. You should get a academy award.

  • Thank you for this beautiful, deeply moving work.

  • Beautiful. I have worked in Gaza in the hospitals, where doctors have no chance to travel to study, to keep up to date, to have access to real medicine, and people have no access to care. this is real. Good work.
