How can a guy (John Cena) who's main-evented SEVEN STRAIGHT Wrestlemanias still need "the torch" passed to him? That makes no sense.

Is Edge stale?

  • @spinnernet1 you gotta understand that its much easier to have 7 straight title matches at Wrestlemania now then it was in the past...

the WWE now is a split world of 2 top Championship titles instead of the way it was during The Attitude Era and before where there was only 1 championship.. either you were the champ or not...

now you can be a champ on Raw or go to Smackdown and be a champ

the Rock won his titles and earned his shots battling 2 nights a week on Raw and Smackdown

  • @AUMarvolis Randy Orton hasn't been in 7 straight world title matches at 'Mania. Edge hasn't. The Undertaker hasn't. Not everyone gets put in world title matches every year at Wrestlemania like John Cena does. It may technically be "easier" to do now. Yet, WWE has only chosen ONE man to put in 7 straight title matches at 'Mania. Randy Orton is a huge star on Raw, and even he hasn't been in a 'Mania world title match since 2009. WWE management is just in love with John Cena. The end.

  • now that R-Truth has been given a push do you thing he will lose the "Whats Up!" Gimmick?

  • @noobtuber1983 I doubt it.

  • Geez guys calm down. its not like spinnernet knew EDGE was going to retire so give him a break. He is just giving his opinion. and i do too think EDGE's character was getting stale cause i wasnt really interested in him as much as i was before in the early 00s and when he returned. Most of that is cause he is on smackdown and i dont really watch smackdown as much cause i dont have time.Just give spinnernet a break guys.Im sure he respects EDGE and what he has done to put his body on the line.

  • I didn't think Edge was really going to retire. Been watching WWE for 10+ years and have to say that Edge is one of the best at what he does whether he was face or heel. He is going to be missed! Thank you Edge!

  • @Eonizzle sorry but that's not true at all.

  • its the stamp, the seal the icing on the cake. Yeah Rock already had it and Cena already has it but its that final stamp that says yeah hes beaten them all.

  • john cena as far as i know since first heavy weight title run has never lost a match one on one or cheated to win except that 60 min match with shawn

  • alberto del rio is the next main eventer and is going to take edges place on smackdown and also christian is going to main event and he was so underestimated because vince doesnt think he can hold a world title and was jobbing for so many years the new era is about to begin

  • WRESTLING SUCKS IN WWE AND TNA RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THE BOOKERS ARE FUCKING UP THE TALENT, IF I DID A WWE /TNA TRADE IT WOULD LOOK LIKE THIS: ROB TERRY TO WWE EVAN BOURNE TO TNA ROBERT ROODE TO WWE (SINGLES COMPETITOR) JAMES STORM TO WWE (SINGLE COMPETITOR) KURT ANGLE BACK TO WWE TYLER REX TO TNA CHRIS MASTERS TO TNA SIN CARA TO TNA AJ STYLES BACK TO WWE JERICHO TO TNA CHAVO GUERRERO TO TNA JTG TO TNA BROADUS CLAY TO TNA EZEKIEL JACKSON TO TNA
  • @spinnernet1 most people outside of the WWE circle consider Jerry Lynn to be a legend. I do. And Bob Holly is very controversial but a lot of people consider him to be a legend too. Both of them are more "legends" than John fucking Cena.

  • @spinnernet1 while that is possibly true it could also be simply because of the kind of relationship Cena has with the WWE crowd these days.. he went from Full Support of the Fans to a Love/Hate relationship.. and thats the kind of advantage he has because you can put him against almost anybody and please the crowd because the fans are split on who they want to root for.. some cheer for him, the rest cheers for WHOEVER he's against.. and this could be a result of the fans seeing him so much...

  • @ wolverine668

The Rock couldn't have "the torch", if Austin was the one holding it, but I find it funny how you narrow down one WM to base you opinion on how Austin wasn't "The" guy. But the match against Hall, as horrible as it was, it was one of the 3 main event of WM 18, but regardless that match doesn't prove that he was "The" guy of that era. Austin was head & shoulder above the rest in terms of rating, marketability, merchandise. Rock was the # 2 guy, but he was still no Austin.

  • @ wolverine668

And who did Rock get this supposed torch from? Hogan? Get the hell outta here, Hogan was 15 years past his prime @ WM 18. I'm sorry, but that was no a "passing of the torch moment" In terms of merchandise, rating, etc, etc, etc.....there was no bigger star than Austin. I may be a fan of the guy, but my nose is far from up his ass. I put Rock on the same level as guys like Taker, HHH & Mick Foley, but during that era, Austin was "The" guy. There was no one like Austin, not even Rock

  • @wolverine668 there are more ways to get over than one. The fact people "hate" him prooves this. If getting clean wins are the only way to get over, HOF the million dollar man ted dibase wouldnt be in the HOF since he clearly never went over since he cheated for most if not all his wins......
