This video is of Lisa Yang, Caroline Combs, and Kelsey Lidsky exploring the effects of hydrogen bonds throughout everyday life in London. They explain the four main characteristics of water that are caused by hydrogen bonds. These include adhesion and cohesion, specific heat capacity, water solubility, and surface tension. Each of these characteristics are shown in examples throughout the British culture. These examples include drying off with a towel which shows adhesion and cohesion, the boiling of water for tea which shows heat capacity, dissolving of sugar in water, the surface tension of the River Thames, and gardening in London. Through in depth description and animation, the characteristics of water as well as the complex nature of hydrogen bonds is explained and understood.
