I agree and I stand corrected. I guess this tool was engineered to cause the death of millions and cannot be compared to say a knife that maybe used as a means to kill also.

"No effect on the planet whatsoever"
*facepalm*

Rapping children? Yes I hate them. Rap sure does suck.

fjlj480: Guns do not kill people... people kill people.
Do remember that the Manhattan Project was a Presidential decision who himself was elected by common people such as ourselves. Do remember that the Germans were already working towards the bomb... and it was a matter of time before they would have successed.
I am not a big fan of WMD's but I think that we cannot blame the inventors for creating what we asked them to create in the first place.

there's a difference between inventing a tool that benefits people and inventing a bomb that destroys everything
-
that's cause you're probably retarded

Do you think the shoah was a good thing?
Do you think killing people is a good thing?
Do you think rapping children is good thing?
Do you think torture is a good thing?
Only unsane people can't make difference between basic good and bad things.
EvilMoncul you have two worry for your mental health : yes, killing thousands hundred innocent people in horrible sufferings is a bad thing, wathever you can say. Get a shrink.
Got to be worry for

Do you think that nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bad things?
What absolute arrogance.... Oppenheimer was an arrogant man, and he did what he did, but in no way can what he did destroy this or any world... every nuke we have won't destroy this world.... it's rediculous to keep trying to push that silly propaganda... however, nukes can cause a lot of damage in the hands of despots and tyrants like Mymoodiminajihad.

"every nuke we have won't destroy this world" ?
Hm...
By the way Mahmoudinejad does not have nuclear weapons. The CIA's own intelligence estimate suggests he is a minimum of ten years from even testing one.
Thanks for dropping by, I appreciate your comments. :)

Yeah, I stand by what I said. If you set off all the nukes on this planet at the same time, it would be like a gnat fart on an Elephant. No effect on the planet whatsoever. Sure, a few billion people would die... hopefully the useless ones... but hey, that's life eh? If it ain't a killer comet, it's a killer plague or nukes. And Iran will soon have a nuke, probably faster than the CIA is predicting.

"No effect on the planet whatsoever". So you obviously failed physics, which I appreciate. But are you honestly saying that we should take your word over the CIA's?

Oppenheimer was one of the greatest and learned scientists of his time. He was deeply spiritual and well rounded.
He did his job; just like Edison cannot be blamed Franklin cannot be blamed for creating electricity (which is also used to kill people on the electric chair), Oppenheimer is not to blame.
The decesion to drop the bomb was taken by a democratically elected predsident. So if someone is at fault it is ALL of us.

Thanks for your comment - It was not my intent to take sides, I merely wanted to stimulate discussion - it's obviously worked. I find it interesting that your defence of Oppenheimer (which I actually agree with) overlooks the fact that he clearly felt overwhelming guilt for playing such an integral role. I personally was more interested in the clip from the POV that a major public figure in American life back then was so well versed in the Baghavad-Gita, something you would -never- see today.
