Check out the size of the chelicerae and fangs on this specimen!

The music is a cover of Bob Dylan's "I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine" performed by myself.

  • Really great video - thank you (the music too!)! How close is your lens to the spider? At one point it looked like it jumped onto the lens?

  • Thanks!

Hmmm - not sure about the distance - and inch or two depending on the magnification.

  • I love your jumpers. They make me smile. I adore your music. I think "Whispering Pines" is stuck in my head. Peace and God Bless.

  • Thanks, I really appreciate it! There will be plenty more salticids to come.

"Whispering Pines" really is a great song - I had it suck in my head for months before recording my version this summer. Johnny Horton's "All For The Love of a Girl" is another favorite of mine, but I'm not sure if I'm capable of singing/playing that one.

  • not handling this one? :)

  • Found one of these out in the carport yesterday, at least I think it was one! It was very tiny though and the colors hadn't come in all the way so I think it might have been a baby or just not fully grown. I let it jump on my hand though, was neat.

  • Nice little friend you made there. =))

  • please send me some mp3s

  • Looks like someone took a sledge hammer to it's chelicerae.

  • Wonderful video!
