Wow Steve! I have not seen or heard such a like-minded individual in a long time, especially on youtube. I've spend the last hour watching some of your videos and I'm nodding my head in agreement again and again. I've spend the last 10 years on this path and your insights mirror my own. since I started the journey (5 years ago) i've seen my life completely disintegrate...i lost EVERYTHING! my business, my wife, my friends, all my money...every...thing. I'm not complaining it's just i needed to see this vid 7 years ago ;o)

I think in some way it does, but as you grow or throw away all the superficial stuff of your life, and start to live a simpler, and more authentic life, you also tend to become more content with not much...there can be different prespective on prosperity.

@jonsi317 Congratulations; my story has a lot of similarities to yours and I suspect this happens to a lot of people as they wake up. Wow, it seemed like everything one could think of was disassembling in my life and yet I felt a deep peace within. Living authentically seems to make a lot of people uncomfortable. But I would not trade it even though I have few friends, my family's disapproval and etc, etc.

"you embrace dissaproval, then u know ur on the right track" thats the best damn advice i'v ever heard. i think the biggest problem that people face when it comes to being true to themselves, is being afraid of what other people think, so basically.. when you are able to embrace dissaproval, then u know ur on the right track!!

Can you set and accomplish goals without being disappointed at the outcome and not being obsessed with success? Is the point of life really just to suppress ego until you have no desires so you dont feel suffering?No personality? Can you have a strong ego and a strong sense of self and spirit at the same time?

Do you think you can seperate youre "self" from your ego? recognize its likes, dislikes, and tendencies? Could you Develope your ego? Could you have desires yet not be controlled by them? Can you enjoy and embrace the spirit of materialism yet not be attached to it? Can you have and maintain an active social life yet not define your self with it?
