The 10th anniversary of 9/11 is just over two months away. Now a group of Valley artists are working on a tribute piece to keep the memory alive.
Artists created individual pieces of 9/11 that were combined in the form of a mosaic. Each of the 32 contributing artists painted one of the memories they have of September 11, 2001 when attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and an attempted attack on the White House took place. The plane that was intended for the White House crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pa.
The pieces can stand alone, but together they represent one unified image of the tragedy.
The artwork will be on display at the Trumbull Art Gallery located in downtown Warren from September 11 through October 31.
The artists are part of the Community Artworks organization which looks to bring positive attention to the community through local artists.
