None taken, hehe, But I disagree. With 21150 views combined of my Game Development related videos I would say that they open up more than jamaican music. Use tiles, as in background tiles. Your method is a silly one

sort of, the whole room is a background then I add the block and interaction objects, that way I can use any editor to make the world.

I think if you're not going to use tiles, the very least you could do is take advantage of that fact and make the background not look tiled. Maybe you already realize that, but I'm saying it anyway just in case...
