  • Hello Seth, I've been working on these for a year or so - Finally they work as I want them to :) the sound is actually almost identical to cane reed, but its hard to hear on a video. The tongue isn't cane, it's composite material with Kevlar fiber - haven't found anything that sounds as good (or, as cane reed-ish)

  • I checked your website and it appears the tongue is cane. Is that right? Ive used carbon fibre, cane, wood, and plastic tongues. I noticed your reed bodies look identical to the synthetic cast reed bodies I developed pictured under the Synthetic Reed section of the Norden Folk forum. Seth, SwedishBagpipes(dot)com

  • Nice, it sounds similar to synthetic reeds I have made. Still doesn't have the crisp mellow sound of cane but I'm sure that will come with experimentation. Is the reed fully synthetic body and tongue? Cheers, Seth
