@catluvr3134ever amazing with kids. My wheaten has been living with lots of young kids coming in and out of his life, and he loves them just as much as they love him. My dads allergic to dogs, but not to my wheaten. GET ONE!! :) Just be sure to give it plenty of excercise and train it well. Indroduce it to kids and other dogs FROM A YOUNG AGE :)

PLEASE REPLY! Despite my YouTube name, I really love dogs as much as I do cats! My mom is really allergic to shedding/dander. She sneezes, coughs, wheezes (making it hard for her to breathe), gets itchy eyes, and sometimes a runny nose. I really want this dog! Is this good for our family?
Thanks! :) ADORABLE DOG btw! :D

i love my wheaten puppy:)

oh my god your wheatens fur is wonderful! It looks just like my rexy's when he was a little pup. Wheatens are amazing dogs.... they have wonderful eyes, fur everything.... they are good at guarding, they love playing. so easy to train, they are so smart. They are wonderful dogs. If i could have one wish it would be that my little buddy could live forever. but atleast he is only 5

why the hell are their tails docked?! there is absolutely no reason for that, terriers have strong tails, that does not break easily (unlike dobermans and rottweilers). Docked tails disgust me, my wheaten waggles her long tail all day long.

@lxk181 " I'd suggest getting a puppy if you have young kids so you can teach the wheaten not to jump up - which is common with the breed..." Well im not trying to be snobby in any way shape or form, we were watching animal planet because I have a soft coated wheaten terrier myself and they said the jumping is not stoppable, its just the way they are. My dogs seven and its just not been stoppable. In no way am I trying to be snobby I just know alot of people get frustrated with that

@CollinAsheim1 My 10 year old wheaten has had skin issues most of his adult life. Just in the past week we had to drain one of his skin cists of a puss infection. He has had previous ones removed as well. Keep an eye out for skin cists with wheatens.

This is really cute! I got my wheaten when I was in eight years old and he's nine years old now. I love those dogs. They're the sweetest and cutest dogs :).

Aww :]

@stupitlovey Wheaten terriers are very loving dogs. they never bite and are great with families and kids. they are medium sized dogs when they are full grown and they LOVE sitting on your feet!
-
YOU MEAN F**K what have you done to their tales? I have one of these and mine has a tale, and loves it!!!!!!
-
can anyone tell me more about soft wheten terriers? are they large or medium sized dogs? are they good with families?
do wheatens need a companion?

A companion dog or a companion person? I don't have any other animals, and he's ok - although he LOVES to play with other dogs. He is a little clingy to me, but does not cry non-stop when he's in his crate.

A companion dog--will the be lonely if they were raised for a while with tons of other dogs?
jg1408 3 years ago
he did not seem lonely at all and quickly became acclimated to life with me in my condo.

How is it having a wheaten? I plan on getting one as soon as my boys are a little older so they can know how to act around puppies better. I LOVE these dogs!! They are so great.

Henry is a great companion... he's smart so he learns quickly, but can also be a little trouble maker (like most puppies). I'd suggest getting a puppy if you have young kids so you can teach the wheaten not to jump up - which is common with the breed...
