Arizona Monsoon Storm July 10, 2008

8:00pm July 10 2008. Our forecast was gusts, 50 mph damaging winds, thunderstorms, heavy rainfall and possible flooding.

Sorry for the limited scenery. The wind was terrible and got so bad it was impossible to stand in anymore then the rain started. In a later video, the rain and wind was so hard the camera couldn't even pick it up. A couple inches of rain. Rained for probably a good solid hour non stop, yard was all water, stuff blowing down the street, trees almost snapping. Typical Arizona summer monsoon. Best one we've had so far this year.

Don't suppose you caught any of last night's storm on video? That would be awesome. You know a meteorologist said it was basically a hurricane? Winds were 80-100 mph. So fucking awesome. Best one I've seen in AZ (and I've lived here my whole life)

I actually did. A few of them. They came out very dark though! It was sure some storm! I'll try and get those off the camera right now and see if I can get them uploaded. I knew from the lightning show (I've never seen such a sight!) that it wouldn't be an ordinary storm. It was amazing though! We sure needed the rain...

We're in Mesa. We got all heck from that storm. I have aftermath video from my other camera, which I hope to upload in the next few days, but I was a little late getting up. It was around 9am but you can see the snapped tree, water and the clouds were still out.

Yup, this is the best time of year, as long as we get the much needed rain!

Mesa/Chandler always gets the best storms... I'm in Glendale.  Sucks!

Where are you in AZ. I live in AJ and we got the tail end of that storm.. It got better as the night went on.. I love this time of year..
